Ellis Wines is a family owned business situated on the rich red Cambrian soil in Colbinabbin.
This famous soil extends both sides of the Mt Camel range found within the Heathcote wine growing region. This region continues to develop an incredible reputation for its wine production.
Joy block (The Ellis family’s first block) was planted in 1999. Today the vineyard has grown to over 123.5 acres of vines and includes Shiraz, Merlot, Viognier and Cabernet.
Ellis Wines have produced some award winning fruit in previous years for Taltarni, Domaine Chandon, Mount Langi and Heathcote winery. Having enjoyed such success, they have now produced their own signature label.

The grapes for this premium wine were grown on the Ellis family vineyard which is situated on the ancient Cambrian soils of the Colbinabbin range in the Heathcote wine growing region of Australia. Two special barrels were selected for this premium shiraz. The shiraz was aged for 14 months in new and one year French oak barriques.
Full bodied yet elegant, the aroma displays bright cherry fruit, mint, eucalypt and subtle oak. The palate is well balanced with rip fruit, mild tannins and lingering finish. Further ageing for seven years will continue to integrate the flavours.

The grapes for this Signature Label were grown on the Ellis family vineyard situated on the ancient red Cambrian soils of the Colbinabbin range within the Heathcote wine growing region. This Viognier displays vibrant fruit aromas of apricot and spiciness carrying to a crisp, lingering palate. Forty percent of this wine was partially barrel fermented and matured in French oak barrels for 5 months adding to the aroma and texture of the palate. A wine that can be enjoyed by itself or with mildly spiced foods, it will improve with up to five years cellaring.
