Salmon-pink colour, the spicy notes to the fruit, and the mouthfeel suggest barrel fermentation, but none has in fact been used; the technique has worked well to present a rose with good flavour, good balance and good attitude.

Four vintages in and really finding the groove stylistically, very similar treatment in the winery as in the past few vintages with a mixture of parcels some being farmed off to old oak others being left in tank and a lot of lees work for texture. Natural ferments on the Rosé are commonly seeing super long fermentation periods of around 115 days and the wine has struck a chord of balance between textured mid palate yet supported by linear acidity. All in all producing the ‘house style’ we set out to make of a wine that is subtle in colour, highly fragrant and textural yet still dry and refreshing.

Grown, made and bottled in Heathcote at our Tellurian vineyard and winery, the Tellurian Rose is a blend of Shiraz, Grenache, Nero D'Avola and Mourvere grapes. The Tellurian vineyard is planted on the ancient red, Cambrian soil.
Tellurian Heathcote Rose is made in a crisp, dry, savoury style, inspired by summer afternoons on the deck, watching the sun set across the Mt Camel Range. Enjoy in it's youth!

This Vintage was a challenging one with rain late in the season, close attention to disease management and sugar levels was required. A cooler growing season yielded small parcels of intensely aromatic and succulent Grenache, the hallmark variety of the Rosés of Southern France.
Traditional barrel fermentation of seasoned French oak has resulted in a savoury, dry and complex wine with a clean, refreshing finish.
