Each year the Buckshot Shiraz just keeps getting better. The 2010 won a fistful of awards. Rob thought his 2012 was a step up again. But now the 2013 has just taken out a clean sweep at the 2015 Victorian Wine Show. Best Shiraz, Best Red and Best Wine!

On the eye it's dark centred, deep garnet. On the nose you'll notice plum, spices, licorice and ferrous characters.

In the mouth, it has a medium bodied palate with bramble, chocolate and plum flavours, brought to life by refined acids and creamy oak textures. The finish is long and silky, with dark fruit and a sound tannin structure, mixed with that distinctive Heathcote minerality.

The 2013 Burke & Wills "The Aristocrat" Cabernet Merlot is a hand crafted blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot from the southern cooler end of the Heathcote region. The wine was fermented in open vessels, hand plunged, basket pressed and matured for 12 months in French oak barrels. Medium bodied with rich fruit flavours, especially suited to lamb and other red meats. Drink from 2015 to 2025.

The grapes for this premium wine were grown on the Ellis family vineyard which is situated on the ancient Cambrian soils of the Colbinabbin range in the Heathcote wine growing region of Australia. Two special barrels were selected for this premium shiraz. The shiraz was aged for 14 months in new and one year French oak barriques.
Full bodied yet elegant, the aroma displays bright cherry fruit, mint, eucalypt and subtle oak. The palate is well balanced with rip fruit, mild tannins and lingering finish. Further ageing for seven years will continue to integrate the flavours.

This is the 37th consecutive vintage widely recognised as one of Australia's finest cool climate Rieslings.

The stony granite soils, high altitude and cool night temperatures impress the fruit of these 40 year-old Riesling vines with a special refinement and persistence of flavour.

These qualities are nurtured through hand harvesting and gentle winemaking techniques to mould a style renowned for its definitive varietal expression, fine natural acidity and the ability to age, gaining even greater complexity with time.
